Ágora del Mar

A space for knowledge, science, and connection with the ocean

"Ágora del Mar" is a meeting place between society and the ocean. A space where science, education, and emotion come together to bring the nature of dolphins and the importance of their protection closer to the public. Here, the animals display their natural behaviors, just as they would in the wild. Each observation becomes an opportunity to learn, understand, and reflect on their role in marine ecosystems.Inspired by the classical concept of the agora—the meeting and dialogue point in ancient Greece—this space is conceived as a modern forum for ideas, discovery, and environmental awareness, where researchers, caretakers, educators, and visitors share their knowledge about the sea and its inhabitants. The Agora of the Sea embodies the educational and scientific mission of the Oceanogràfic: to inform, inspire, and promote respect for marine biodiversity. It is a space not only to observe, but also to understand and connect with the oceans from a responsible and transformative perspective.

Bottlenose dolphin
