European pond turtle
The European pond turtle (Emys orbicularis) is a turtle which is very resistant to the cold, and when the temperature drops greatly, it can hibernate at the bottom of the water.
Where to find them?
You can find them in the marsh of Oceanogràfic, under the distinctive sphere of the aviary.
General aspects
With a greenish brown shell with yellow marks, this turtle is increasingly endangered due to direct competition with other invasive species of turtles such as the pond slider (Trachemys scripta).
