Green heron
The green heron (Butorides virescens) is another of the animals that lives in the aviary of Oceanogràfic. It is a medium sized bird which usually measures 46 centimetres.

You can find them under the characteristic sphere of the aviary.
General aspects
With mottled plumage, and a green colour on its back. It is a fisher and has a long, straight bill. A curious strategy of this bird for catching fish is to attract them with different baits.
